The short-life working groups for the activity data workstream have made considerable headway in contributing to and informing the Advanced Practice Toolkit.

Three pieces of work have been undertaken, including the development and piloting of a database for the Advanced Practice Review Questionnaire (role benchmarking) for use within the toolkit.

A range of clinical systems have been reviewed and found to be applicable to the area of practice they serve in terms of capturing real-time data activity.

A mapping of data currently collected at national, board and operational level and data that could be considered for future capture has been conducted, along with an early exploration of different methods to benchmark advanced practice characteristics.

A number of future actions have been identified and will be taken forward to progress this work.
